Forum - I am missing the logic

I have copy and pasted the html-code into my html-file, present at
this url:
http://www.matematiksider.dk/udfyld.html
then copy and pasted the php-code into my "gem.php" file, and
uploaded both. When entering something in the "captcha" field and
pressing the submit button I always yield the following response
regardless if the codeword is false or true:
"The image code you have provided does not match the actual one. Hit
the 'back' button of your browser and input the correct code please.
which is part of the text pasted into my php file. So this file is
reached, but I think the verification is not taking place. Therefore
I think I am missing something here? I followed the instructions
carefully. Can you tell me what is wrong?
